D-Con Social Child Safety Standards

dCon Social ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Volatile Apps. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page describes the standards we hold the App to, how we enforce them, and how to report a concern.
1. Age requirement
dCon Social is an 18+ app. Creating an account requires entering a date of birth, and the App blocks account creation for anyone under 18 — this is enforced both in the app and independently on our servers, so it cannot be bypassed by modifying the app. This applies to every user, regardless of which mode (Friends or Dating) they use.
We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to hold an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we permanently delete the account and all associated data.
2. Zero tolerance for CSAE
We prohibit any content or behavior that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors, including but not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
- Sexualized depictions or descriptions of minors
- Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to arrange contact with a minor
- Sharing another person's real or implied childhood sexual abuse imagery
Accounts found to violate this policy are permanently banned, and we preserve records as required to support law enforcement investigations.
3. How this is enforced
- Age gate: 18+ required at signup, enforced both client-side and by our backend (Cloud Functions and Firestore security rules independently reject any account with a stored age under 18).
- Automated image screening: every photo uploaded to the App — profile photos, gallery posts, and chat image attachments — is automatically screened using Google Cloud Vision's SafeSearch Detection before it's visible to anyone else. Images the system rates as adult content are blocked.
- Automated text screening: chat messages and public posts are checked against a moderation blocklist before delivery.
- User reporting: any user can report another user or a specific photo directly from their profile card, chat, or the public photo feed. One of the report categories is specifically "Appears underage".
- Escalating enforcement: every report feeds a trust-and-safety scoring system. Reports in the "Appears underage" category are weighted as the most severe category the system tracks. An account that accumulates enough weighted reports is automatically hidden from other users (shadowbanned) and, at a higher threshold, permanently banned — which also disables the underlying account so the person cannot sign back in under that identity.
- Blocking: any user can block another user at any time, immediately and mutually hiding both accounts from each other.
- Crowdsourced profile verification: established users can vote to verify or flag suspicious profiles, adding another layer of review beyond individual reports.
4. Reporting a concern
In the app: tap the safety menu on any profile card or chat conversation, or the report icon on a gallery photo, and choose a category. Reports are reviewed through the enforcement process described above.

We respond to CSAE reports as a priority over all other correspondence. Where we identify apparent CSAM or another apparent violation of child safety law, we remove the content, permanently ban the account, and take appropriate further action as required by applicable law.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement or (in the US) call 911 first.
