ShowRadar ("we," "our," or "us"), developed by Volatile Apps, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (ShowRadar, package identifier com.volatileapps.showradar) collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our services.

By installing, accessing, or using ShowRadar, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Summary of Key Principles

• Zero Third-Party Advertising Trackers: We do not include third-party ad networks, advertising identifiers (IDFA / GAID tracking), or sell your data to data brokers.
• Guest-First Architecture: You can use ShowRadar completely offline without creating an account or providing an email address.
• Client-Side Location Processing: Your approximate location or entered zip code is used exclusively on your device in real-time to find nearby movie theaters and calculate distance. It is never logged or stored on our servers.
• Secure Cloud Sync (Optional): If you choose to connect your SIMKL or Supabase account, your watch data is encrypted in transit and stored securely.

2. Information We Collect

A. Information Stored Locally on Your Device (Guest Mode)

When using ShowRadar without connecting a cloud account, all your data is stored solely in local device storage (SharedPreferences / Keychain):

• Watchlist Entries: Titles marked as Planning, Watching, Completed, or Dropped.
• Watched Episode History: Checkmarks and dates for episodes you have watched.
• User Ratings: 1–5 star ratings assigned to movies, series, or episodes.
• Local Preferences: Selected streaming subscriptions, theme choices, and custom search radius.

B. Account & Authentication Information (Optional Cloud Sync)

If you choose to sign in or connect a cloud account:

• SIMKL Account Credentials: We use OAuth2 PIN / device code authentication. Your access token is stored securely in encrypted device storage (flutter_secure_storage / iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) to sync your watchlist and watch history with SIMKL.
• Supabase Authentication: If you authenticate with email or cloud login, we store your user identifier and synced watchlist entries in a secured PostgreSQL database protected by Row-Level Security (RLS).

C. Location Data (Theaters & Showtimes Feature)

• Approximate Location / Zip Code: To display nearby movie theaters (e.g., Georgia Theatre Company, AMC, Regal, Cinemark) and calculate distance badges (e.g., "1.8 miles away"), the app determines your approximate geographic region via fast HTTPS IP lookup or your manually entered US zip code (e.g., 31602).
• No Precise GPS Tracking: ShowRadar does not request background location permissions or track your continuous physical movement. Location lookups occur only while actively viewing the "Now in Theaters" or theater showtimes screens.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected solely to provide, maintain, and improve the core functionality of ShowRadar:

1. Personalized Streaming Discovery: Filtering movie and TV catalog feeds to match your subscribed streaming services.
2. Watch-Tracking & Up Next Queue: Tracking your episode progress and notifying you of upcoming release dates on your calendar.
3. Theatrical Showtimes & Booking: Finding cinemas within your selected search radius and providing direct links to ticketing services (Google Showtimes / Fandango).
4. Social & Taste Overlap: Calculating compatibility match percentages with friends when you share or compare profiles.
5. Cross-Device Synchronization: Syncing your watch history across your devices when signed in.

4. Third-Party Service Providers & APIs

ShowRadar interacts with third-party APIs to fetch media metadata, streaming availability, ratings, and theater information. These services may receive standard technical network requests (e.g., IP address, HTTP headers):

• SIMKL API (simkl.com): Powers optional user authentication, watch history synchronization, trending feeds, and community discussion comments.
• Streaming Availability API (Movie of the Night) (movieofthenight.com): Provides streaming service availability catalogs and metadata.
• OMDb API (omdbapi.com): Provides IMDb ratings and Rotten Tomatoes consensus scores.
• OpenStreetMap & Nominatim (openstreetmap.org): Provides public mapping data and geographic geocoding for theater venues.
• YouTube API (google.com): Used for official movie and TV trailer lookups.
• Supabase (supabase.com): Provides optional cloud backend infrastructure and database storage.

Each third-party service operates under its respective privacy policy and terms of service.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard your data:

• Encryption in Transit: All network requests are conducted strictly over secure HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections. Cleartext HTTP is explicitly blocked.
• Encrypted Local Storage: Authentication tokens are stored using device-level encryption (iOS Keychain / Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).
• Row-Level Security (RLS): Synced database rows in Supabase are isolated so users can only access their own data.

6. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

You have complete ownership and control over your personal data:

• Local Data Deletion: You can permanently delete all local watchlists, ratings, and cache at any time by clearing the application storage in your device settings or uninstalling the app.
• Cloud Account Disconnection: You can log out of SIMKL or Supabase directly from the Profile screen at any time.
• Data Deletion Request: To request the permanent deletion of any cloud-synced account data from our servers, email us at jarod@volatileapps.com with your username or registered email.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

ShowRadar is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such data immediately.

8. GDPR (European Union) & CCPA/CPRA (California) Disclosures

If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or California:

• Right to Access & Portability: You have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Right to Erasure: You have the right to request the immediate deletion of your personal data.
• No Sale of Personal Data: ShowRadar does not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information or browsing habits to third parties.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect feature additions or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of ShowRadar after changes constitute acceptance of the revised policy.
